Happy Holidays

Happy holidays from Insight PT and Wellness.

The holidays can be overwhelming with “to do” lists. All the presents to buy, people to see, errands to run can leave little time for you.

However, as 2020 has brought many changes in our lives, maybe your holidays are looking a little different and you have a few less to do lists with less people to see. Whether that is the case or not, make sure that a priority on your “to do” lists is YOU!

YOU cannot give to others if you have nothing to give from. While physical gifts are great, your kids will not remember what they got for Christmas in 20 years, but they will remember how you made them feel. If you are depleted from stress, lack of sleep, and running around, holding your little ones with a genuine smile will be more challenging.

I am giving you permission to take a step back and breathe. Treat yourself. You don’t need to get that last present or have the presents perfectly wrapped or make the perfect meal. This year is already a year to remember with everything being different than planned, so embrace it. Order in pizza, do something you would NEVER think of doing on Christmas, just to take a load off of you.

When stress increases in our lives, our pelvic floors can hold that stress. That stress can lead to pelvic floor issues either now or later. They might present as leaking, constipation, pain with intercourse, hip pain, back pain, bladder pain, hemorrhoids, just to name a few. As you are busy getting things done for the holidays, take time to breathe. Breathe into your pelvic floor to help it relax to prevent issues in the future.

No matter what you are doing for the holidays this year, give yourself the gift of breath. It is free and can be relaxing.

Happy Holidays!!!!
